Microsoft’s eagerness to rid itself of the old Xbox One stock by dropping the price to $249.99 makes even more sense today, because they’ve announced that although the $399 2TB Xbox One S arrives on August 2, we won’t be waiting very long for the cheaper 1Tb and 500GB models to arrive. And both ship with free games included. So, right now you can get a 500GB Xbox One for $249.99. Then on August 2 the 2TB Xbox One S will release for $399 creating quite the price differential. But fear not, on August 23 the other two S models hit the market. The 1TB Xbox One S will cost $349 and is being offered as a Madden NFL 17 Bundle, which includes a download of Madden NFL 17 (unless you buy at GameStop as they are including a physical copy) and seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs. There’s also one month of EA Access thrown in and a limited time promotional code that gets you 20% off a purchase at NFLShop.com.If you aren’t a Madden fan, then there’s an alternative 1TB Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle which includes Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection totaling 5 games for the same $349 price tag. There’s also a 500GB version of this pack for $299.Now here’s the bad news. Microsoft has stated that in the US the 1TB model will only be available in very limited quantities through Microsoft Stores and microsoftstore.com. So it looks like the 2TB and 500GB models will be the only option for most people. It’s unclear if this is a long term decision or just during the launch period and with this bundle. Either way, it seems like a silly decision.
