South Oak Cliff four-star defensive end Steven Parker committed to Kansas this afternoon. Parker had once been committed to Texas Tech, but reopened his recruitment on December 1.He officially visited Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska over the last two months before deciding on the Jayhawks today.Parker is the 23rd-rated weak-side defensive end in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. However, this is his biggest win with a high school recruit.Kansas isn’t going to beat out Nebraska and Texas Tech too often, but if Miles can pull this type of player occasionally, it will certainly help expedite his efforts to bring the turn the program around.Kansas finished 3-9 in 2018. The Jayhawks have not compiled a winning record since 2008, when they went 8-5 and won a bowl game under Mark Mangino.
