first_imgTop Rugby Union referee Nigel Owens joined talkSPORT on Wednesday to have his say on plans to trial ‘sin bins’ in English football.The Football Association has revealed plans to introduce what it calls “temporary dismissals” in the lower leagues – six tiers below the National League and below – from next season.The new rules, like those seen in rugby union, rugby league and a number of other sports, will see players shown yellow cards for dissent leave the field for ten minutes.Owens is one of the world’s top international rugby officials, having refereed over 13 World cup matches including the 2015 final.And he joined the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast to share his thoughts on the plans to introduce the rugby-style rule into football.Listen to the interview IN FULL above!last_img
