first_imgWest Ham have been given a boost in their pursuit of Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez after Borussia Dortmund pulled out of the race to sign him.The striker is frantically trying to find a new club before the season starts after performing a u-turn over a move to Besiktas over concerns about the current political situation in Turkey.West Ham are keen on signing the Germany international and Fiorentina are ready to hold talks with them.A representative from Besiktas had also claimed that Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund were working on a deal for Gomez as interest in the striker hots up.However, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has now moved to dismiss those reports and seemingly left the door open for West Ham to swoop in.“He [Gomez] might be in talks – but not with Borussia Dortmund.
