SHERMAN OAKS – City crews began ticketing and towing illegally parked vehicles this morning as Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the expansion of the Anti-Gridlock Tiger Team program. Five Department of Transportation officers and three tow-trucks will patrol an 8.5-mile stretch of Ventura Boulevard, between the 405 Freeway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, from 6-9 a.m. weekdays, Villaraigosa said during a news conference. The first Tiger Team, launched last week along Wilshire Boulevard, has cited more than 17,000 motorists and towed over 5,100 vehicles over the last year. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
