Literacy Day approaching

first_imgA new chapter of events is set to take place in Fort St. John.Jan. 27 marks Family Literacy Day and the city has set up an entire day dedicated to supporting the cause.- Advertisement -Various Fort St. John establishments will be promoting the day ahead of schedule.On Jan. 12, Patch Java will open its doors for a lunchtime family play time.CJ Java’s will also open its doors on the 19 and the Cultured Café for the same cause. Taylor pre-school will hold a pre-school Play for Literacy on the 26.On Literacy Day, Patch Java will be hosting various events throughout the afternoon and into the evening, including ‘Eat and Play’, a game time on the WOW bus, a Pictionary play-off and a dramatic Munsch reading.Advertisement The Fort St. John Library will also be taking part in its own festivities by hosting a Scrabble tournament starting at 7 p.m.A few schools have also decided to become involved in the day’s events. Alwin Holland Elementary School will be hosting a Read and Feed for students.
