Final grants awarded in CAF’s 2005/06 Grant Programme

first_imgCAF’s Collaborative Fund works with up to five organisations that share CAF’s own mission – to increase effective giving. The support offered is individually tailored to fit the needs of each organisation, combining flexible funding which will actively leverage in other resources through consultancy support, links with other organisations and importantly links with CAF.In Kind Direct has benefited form the latest round of grants from the Collaborative Fund. Established in 1996, the charity distributes goods donated by some of Britain’s best known manufacturers and retailers to hundreds of voluntary organisations both in the UK and overseas. CEO of In Kind Direct, Robin Boles, commented: “In Kind Direct is undergoing an exciting and challenging development phase to enable us to extend our service to hundreds more voluntary organisations and the people they serve. The support we are receiving from CAF – both in terms of expertise and flexible funding is crucial and so very much appreciated. “The way CAF administers the grant to ensure it best suits recipients is so impressive and could be enlightening for other grant makers.”The 2006/2007 CAF Grant Programme runs from 1 May 2006 to 30 April 2007. Charities Aid Foundation reports that in the past year it was made grants to 235 charities from its Training and Consultancy Fund and the Collaborative Fund. The next grant programme is already open for applications.CAF’s Consultancy and Training Fund aims to strengthen and develop small and medium-sized charitable organisations, providing flexible funding, time with consultants and funds to cover training costs.One organisation to benefit from this approach is the Mudchute Association, the UK’s largest urban farm and parkland based on the Isle of Dogs. Following rapid expansion, the charity received 23 days of consultancy including a Health Check Plus.
